JROTC Recently before the break our rifle team placed first place in the Rutherford County Rifle League and the Rutherford County Rifle Tournament! The competition took place the week of December 7-11th. This was also the teams fourth year in a row to win both competitions! I look forward to your answer. Please help us congratulate them!
IT COMPETITION The results are in! We took three students to compete in three separate competitions and all three students walked away with medals and two of them are the BEST IN THE STATE and are advancing to Nationals! Please congratulate these students when they return tomorrow!
-Nathan Chansomphou took the GOLD medal in the Internetworking . -Dakota Meyer took the BRONZE medal in Telecommunications Cabling . -Ty Conant took the GOLD medal in Information Technology Services .
SCHS INTERACT CLUB The Special Kids Race was held on March 9. Several SCHS Interact students volunteered to set up the evening before and some the morning of the event. Nathan Surratt and his father and Ethan Lambert helped set up the water stations. There was also a group that helped with the gating and corrals for the race. There was a group who sorted, organized and handed out the medals to the participants as they finished the race.
So proud of our cadets this weekend. Our JV Rifle Team took first place and our Varsity Rifle finished third with 90 teams competing in the 7th Brigade (five-state area) regional match.
Our Academic Team finished in fourth place being edged out by only a few points for third place, and our male Color Guard team also finished just out of third place with an excellent performance.
Once again the "Creek" was well represented in this annual 7th Brigade Meet.
Ms. Olt’s Vet Science class took a trip to visit her farm and spend some time with a cloned cow, Apple 2. Learning reproductive technologies is more memorable when you can touch it. They also toured Mill Creek Vet Center where Dr. Ange Olt let them watch surgeries and see the “behind the scenes” operations of a veterinary hospital.
The Historical Society and Tennessee History classes visited the TN Supreme Court and TN State Library and Archives on Wednesday, November 14. Our tour guide at the Supreme Court was Judge Andy Bennett, of the TN Court of Appeals.
At the Library and Archives, students analyzed primary source documents and discovered the joys of playing with microfilm.
Nov 8th, Brooke Mayo received the A.F. Bridges Female Coach of the Year from TSSAA for District 4.
This award recognizes coaches who promote integrity, sportsmanship and leadership among their athletes.
We hope everyone enjoyed this year's HAWK WALK as much as the Science Dept did!

Historical Society visited the TN Sports Hall of Fame and Lane Motor Museum on Friday, October 26th.
SCHS Culinary students competed at the Murfreesboro- Rutherford County United Way Chili Cook Off.
STATE THEATER AWARDS
The SCHS Theater earned several top honors....Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time won the One-Act Play competition and is qualified to move on to regional competition in February. The show also won best direction, Sam Dedrick was named Best Actress and Heidi Andrews and Sarah Tuverson were named All-Star cast. Kirsten Womack received the Technical Theater Scholarship with Alex Copely the runner-up, and Alex received the Performance Scholarship. If you see these students please offer your congratulations. SCHS Ladies Soccer
Oakland beat us last night 3-1 in the District Tournament Final. We are District Runner-Up and will play next Tuesday at Columbia Central in the Region Semifinals.
We received several honors last night at District Awards: Offensive MVP is Delaney Mitchell (So) Coach of the Year is Jeff Marlow All District 1st Teams are Annie Warner (Sr), Sabrina White (So), Dakota Mitchell (So), and Olivia Marlow (Fr) All District 2nd Team are Kaitlin Jones (Sr), Emily Meyer (Sr), Hallie Cherry (Sr), and Hannah Opie (Fr)
FFA members helped out with Heritage Days at the Sam Davis home by taking calves and goats for children to learn about farm animals.
Today at The Creek Chief Editor, Sophomore Braxin Carico was asked to run camera at a recent Thomas Rhett concert in Lexington, KY for the country band Midland. This is the ultimate "On the Job" training. We at SCTV are very proud of his work and look forward to sharing more of these experiences.
SCHS XC Boy’s Team 2nd and Girl’s Team 3rd at the Henry Horton Invitational! Andrew Nau wins 1st place overall! So many PR’s! Looking strong RedHawks! Next meet is MSCCA (Mid-State) Championships, 10/13 @ Buckner Park in Dickson.
Students from Timothy Club, FCA, and Bible class visited The Upper Room Chapel and toured the Cathedral of the Incarnation on Wednesday, September 19th. Both places are in Nashville. While at The Upper Room, students were treated to a Taize music performance, which is a contemplative, meditative music which originated in France in the post-World War II period.
Interact students have been busy working with community members at keeping up the beauty of SCHS. On Tuesday, Set. 18th we planted two trees and trimmed a few and picked up trash. Just wanted to share with the Week at the Creek!

SCHS brought home 1st place trophies in both the girls and boys races Saturday at the hilly Columbia Invitational! Amazing job by everyone!
